Founder of the Chagoury Group, Gilbert Ramez Chagoury was born in Lagos, Nigeria on 8th January 1946. Gilbert’s commitment to African development was further cemented following his marriage to Rose Marie Chamchoun, the daughter of a successful businessman operating in Niger and Benin. It was this commitment which focussed Gilbert’s development of a business empire, almost entirely based in Africa.
With brother Ronald Chagoury in partnership, the Chagoury industrial and financial empire has grown to encompass a multi-faceted business conglomerate determined to break the myths and perceptions of African developmental limitations.
Gilbert Chagoury’s plans for the future include tying up the best of African industry to the resource needs of China, India and Latin America.
